Art in Motion - Asher's New Shoes

Phin's Big Smile

Phineas has mastered the art of smiling. It's a great feeling when your child finally smiles at you. It's like they're saying, "Thanks for all your hard work and sleepless nights." We love to see him smile and he's even smiled at Asher.

On February 10, Phin was dedicated to God at our church, First Evangelical Free Church. It was nice to have family and friends there for the service. We also had a lunch afterwards and we had a nice time visiting.

Jonathan ordered Phin's cake and I thought it turned out very cute! Our inspiration were these verses:

Psalm 127:3-5a (New International Version)

3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him.

4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth.

5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.

It's All In How You See It

Asher has been very busy with crayons. We love to talk about colors and then make pictures. He likes coloring books and will fill in every space in color. He doesn't care if the picture is already full of color, he'll find a way to add more. This is an example of some of his artwork.

But, to Mom, it's NOT art. This is a definite decorating faux pa. He has been coloring all over our house today. Yesterday he colored on the coffee table so I took his crayons away and he's only allowed to color in his high chair. But he managed to find a blue crayon he had tucked away in a hidden spot and Mom was not appreciative of his artwork today.

Who Is this Baby?

Here's Phin in one of Jonathan's wigs and a mustache. We thought it was pretty funny!!
