Ending July, Beginning August

I know this is late, but better than never.

We went to Rock Valley to visit my family the last weekend of July/first weekend of August. We wanted to see my sister's house that had been burned in a fire and my nephew was turning four. Take the bad with the good, I guess.

Asher stayed with my parents for a few days while we got the house ready for babysitting a 10-month-old girl, Addie. It was nice to move furniture without Asher's "help." ;) He was playing outside when we arrived and we were so excited to see him.

Playing outside with our Asher and Phin.

The kids actually played pretty well together. There wasn't as much conflict intervention as there was during our last visit in June.

Phin loves the swing. He falls asleep almost every time we put him in it.

Uncle DJ took Asher for a ride on the skid-loader. And then they fed the chickens.

We celebrated Will's birthday with a "Cars" cake. He didn't think it was very funny when Aunt Maria pretended she was going to devour his cake.

Asher needed a little space the day before we left so Jonathan took him to the city park to play. They had a great time. The Rock Valley City Park has wonderful playground equipment. It was fun for Jonathan to see Asher's ever-improving skills. ;)
