Jonathan and Joel had some college boys (Jared and Rachel, too) over to watch movies while Tori and I ran errands. When Tori and I got home the boys were watching a movie and chilling. Asher was playing with a balloon in the living room and fell backward and hit the back of his head on the coffee table. He didn't cry right away so when he did I picked him up and rocked him in the recliner. Then my neck started to feel wet and warm...he was bleeding. So we packed him up and took him to the ER where he got three staples in his little head. Oops!
We celebrated our family Christmas before we left for Papa and Nana's. It was nice to have a quiet meal and open gifts together. The boys had a nice time and Phin was more excited about all the wrapping paper than anything else. Then we put the boys to bed and watched a movie. It was a really nice evening. It will be fun when we can start our own family traditions or mesh traditions from both of our families.
Jonathan got the game "For Sale."

We all went to church together and returned home to a wonderful meal: turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn and tea rolls...yummy!! We finished up the dishes and opened gifts. I gave Maria a homemade blanket and DJ got Peanut Blossom cookies. Maria made me a great Snapfish calendar. It was a nice time!
In the evening we went to Hull to celebrate with my extended family. It was really fun. We played Bingo for $5 gifts and then played Bohnanza with the cousins. It's getting nice as we all get older because we're starting to get more in common with each other. It's funny how when you're kids you play so well together and then in junior high and high school it seems to get awkward. But it's fun now! We really enjoyed our time with the family. Oh, and the food was good too!!

My mom took Jonathan and I to shop for our Christmas present: old oak dining chairs. We wanted to get them used and old then sand and paint them. I'm really happy with the chairs that we chose. It will be really hard to wait to get them home.

Papa and Nana left for Washing to visit Andrea, Jeremiah and the kids. I think they would have regretted not going. We spent the evening with the Van Maanen's and the Brackleins. We had a nice time enjoying a meal together (and the brisket was delicious, Jay) and played Bohnanza. The kids slept well so we were able to stay there pretty late before we had to head to bed.

Head back home.
It was a really fun Christmas and I'm sure it will get even more fun as the boys get older. They are such a joy and we're so blessed to have them.

Asher's head is doing great. He had his staples removed yesterday and he didn't even cry! What a tough little buddy!
